Professional Arts Specialty Pharmacy provides therapies for both men and women throughout their lifecycle from topicals for breastfeeding and hair loss to traditional and customized hormone replacement therapies.
One of the most common women’s and men’s health options dispensed at Professional Arts Specialty Pharmacy is customized, compounded hormone replacement therapies. We work together with patients and prescribers to provide therapies that provide the needed hormones in the most appropriate strength, combination, and dosage form to meet each woman or man’s specific needs.
Bio-Identical Hormone Therapies
Professional Arts Specialty Pharmacy uses hormone sources that are considered or known as “bio-identical” or “BHRT” when compounding a hormone preparation. Even though both natural and synthetic hormones are synthesized in a lab to reach their final form to make medications, the ones derived from natural plant material happen to be chemically and structurally identical to those produced in the human body or “bio-identical”.
Bio-Identical Hormones (BHRT) include:
- Customized “sex” hormone replacement for Men & Women using estriol
- (E3), estradiol (E2), estrone (E1), progesterone, testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), and pregnenolone
- Customized thyroid replacement T-3 (Liothyronine) T-4 (Levothyroxine)
Every person is unique and can respond to hormone therapy in their own way. We offer treatment flexibility and a variety of dosage forms including topical creams/solutions/gels, immediate release and slow-release capsules, troches (lozenges) and vaginal creams. Hormone replacement therapy should only be initiated after medical and family history, symptoms, and lab values have been carefully reviewed. Monitoring and medication adjustments are sometimes necessary.
