Candace Fontenot is the Director of Human Resources of Professional Arts Pharmacy, where she leads strategic initiatives related to all things talent and people.
Candace’s career got off to a fast start, taking a job right out of high school while attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her motivation and willingness to learn were quickly recognized by the attorney, who became a mentor and took the time to train her to become a legal assistant.
Eventually, Candace decided to leave the legal field, while still using what she learned, she became a payroll specialist, focusing on FLSA guidelines and assisting in HRIS implementation for various companies.
Candace stood out for her exceptional ability to create standard operating procedures, inspire her colleagues, and overhaul processes to improve efficiency. She was quickly promoted to Shared Services Human Resources Manager, where she would play an integral part in creating uniformity across all subsidiaries. Whether developing employee handbooks or creating new hire onboarding experiences, her passion for people shined through in her work. In 2018, Candace transitioned into the role of Director of Human Resources at Jaguar Energy Services.
While new to the pharmaceutical industry, her passion for people and innovative ideas for employee engagement perfectly align with Professional Arts Pharmacy’s core value to “Make it Personal.” On any given day, you can find Candace spreading joy throughout the office with random acts of kindness or doing whatever it takes to help the team flourish.
Candace is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management and the local Acadiana chapter and is a member of the International Association of Women. She is actively involved in many volunteer activities in the Lafayette area.
