For patients seeking access to customized hormone replacement, our pharmacy provides a full, in depth consultation for women and men with our Consultant Pharmacist, Mandie E. Romero, P.D. During this one-on-one consultation, the consultant pharmacist evaluates your medical history and symptoms and reviews any lab work (salivary or blood work). At the end of the consultation, the consultant pharmacist will make recommendations for hormone replacement therapy that best fit the patient's needs. After the consultation, the pharmacist will contact the patient's doctor for a prescription for the recommended medications. Once the doctor approves the medications, we then make the medications you will need. The cost for the consultation is $125.00.

For female patients, we encourage our patients to perform lab work prior to scheduling your consultation. We recommend ZRT labs for salivary hormone testing. The ZRT test kits can be picked up at our office and returned to our office once it is completed. This panel includes Estradiol, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA-S and Cortisol. If you are still having menstrual cycles, it is recommended that you perform the blood collection or salivary collection on cycle day 19, 20 or 21.
For male patients, you may ask your physician to draw the following blood levels: FSH, LH, Estradiol, Total and Free Testosterone, PSA, DHEA-S, CBC with hematocrit, hemoglobin, and lipids. It is recommended that you have the blood work prior to the consultation with the Clinical Pharmacist.
-
Once we receive all your labwork is received AND we have your completed evaluation packet, we will contact you to schedule your appointment with our consultant pharmacist.
-
After your initial consultation, we will add you to our follow-up calendar. You will receive a phone call from our nurse, Aimee Broussard, R.N. for 3 consecutive months. The fee for this is included in the initial consultation fee.
-
After being stabilized on your hormone regimen, we do recommend that you perform follow-up testing at the 6 month mark and annually thereafter.
